One Heartbeat and One New Pregnancy Confirmed
Dyana’s 14-Day Ultrasound
It was a big day for Horse Husband Stables, with both My Audubon (Audi) and Lady Dyanaformer (Dyana) getting rechecked by the vet—and both mares brought good news.
🐴 Audi’s Heartbeat Check: Right on Track
We already shared that Audi was confirmed pregnant after her May 12 breeding to Zandon. Today marked 28 days post-ovulation, which means it was time for the milestone we’ve all been waiting for: the heartbeat check.
A clear, strong fetal heartbeat was visible on the ultrasound—just what we were hoping to see. This flickering signal means the pregnancy is now viable, with significantly improved odds that it will continue successfully. It’s still early, but this heartbeat is a major step forward in the journey toward her 2026 foal.
🌟 Dyana’s Pregnancy Confirmed: 14 Days, 13mm Vesicle
Meanwhile, Lady Dyanaformer (Dyana) was bred to Knicks Go on May 27, with ovulation confirmed on May 28. Her ultrasound today—14 days later—showed a 13mm embryonic vesicle, which is exactly where it should be at this stage.
📏 For comparison:
Day 11: 5–8mm
Day 14: 12–14mm (normal range)
That puts Dyana’s pregnancy right on track, even after a hectic week spent at Hagyard last week while her filly Callie underwent treatment for Rhodococcus equi. Despite the stress and travel, Dyana didn’t miss a beat—she’s pregnant, and everything looks good so far.
🔍 What’s Next?
Dyana: A 16-day twin check is scheduled for Thursday. Twin pregnancies are more common in Thoroughbreds due to a higher rate of double ovulations, so it’s standard practice to recheck for multiple embryos before fixation. If all is normal, her heartbeat check will follow around day 28.
Audi: Now that the heartbeat is confirmed, she’ll continue with routine monitoring—but today’s check brings her into the safer zone of early pregnancy.
