Foaling Watch Update – March 9, 2025

🐴 Elusive Surprise – Day 338 – More wax today, but still waiting. Stayed quiet overnight last night.

🐴 Lady Dyanaformer – Day 331 – No major changes. Monitoring closely.

🐴 My Audubon – Day 311 – No updates. Still early in her countdown.

Last Night’s Foal Watch Update

Surprise was very quiet overnight, standing in the same spot nearly the entire watch. This morning, she’s shifting her weight around more, but there are no major changes in behavior just yet.

She does have more wax today, which is a promising sign that she’s progressing. While it’s frustrating that her milk test last week indicated she should have foaled by Friday, these tests—while typically reliable—are not always 100% accurate.

The Horse Husband Stables team checked in with their veterinarian today, and she is not concerned at this time. If needed, they have the option to perform an ultrasound to check fetal position, but they don’t feel that’s necessary yet.

Dyana & Audi’s Weigh-In

Dyana and Audi had a barn weigh-in thanks to the new scale built by the Horse Husband Stables team!

📌 Audi: 1,363 lbs

📌 Dyana: 1,489 lbs

Surprise was not weighed, as stepping onto the scale requires a small step up. Given her deteriorated stifle and the extra weight of late-stage pregnancy, the team opted not to push her.

With continued waxing and close monitoring, we remain on high alert for Surprise’s foaling—hopefully soon! Stay tuned for updates.
