It’s Official: My Audubon’s Filly Has a Name

After three rounds of thoughtful voting, dozens of heartfelt submissions, and one unexpected twist, we finally have an official Jockey Club name for Audi’s 2025 filly!

In the final round of The Foal Circle naming contest, Just Cause received the most Insider votes. Submitted by the Horse Husband Stables team, the name beautifully honored her sire, Brody’s Cause, and the extraordinary generosity of Justine and Marc Howell of Whysper Wynd Farm, who gifted My Audubon (Audi) to the farm.

But in a surprising turn, The Jockey Club rejected the name due to its similarity to an existing registered name: A Just Cause. That meant the team had to move on to the next highest vote-getter—an exciting twist that gave a member-submitted name the win.

We’re thrilled to announce that this special filly’s official name is:
🎉 Audacious Whysper 🎉

The name was submitted by Marie Dufault, who shared:

“I agree that honoring the farm & kind owners who lovingly cared for Audi is beautiful. Combining with Audi's name recognizes her tail female family legacy.”

The Horse Husband Stables team plans to use Whysper as her barn name—a tribute to Whysper Wynd Farm and the quiet strength this filly represents. Her official registered name, Audacious Whysper, reflects both bold beginnings and a legacy whispered forward with love.

Meanwhile… Audi May Be Headed to the Breeding Shed This Weekend

In breeding news, Audi had her second ultrasound today to check her cycle. She’s developing a 39mm follicle, so the team has reserved a placeholder with the breeding shed at Spendthrift Farm for Saturday, where she’s booked to visit Zandon.

Her progress will be rechecked tomorrow. If the follicle has reached peak maturity, her appointment will be confirmed for Saturday. If not, the trip may be rescheduled for Sunday instead.
