Foaling Watch Update: Surprise Finally Takes a Break

For the first time in weeks, Surprise was comfortable enough to lay down in her paddock today. While this doesn’t necessarily mean she’s entered Stage 1 labor, it was great to see her relaxing and resting as she gets closer to foaling.

Even more reassuring? She got up smoothly without any real struggle, despite her weak stifle and that big belly. Seeing her move well at this stage is a great sign that she’s handling the final stretch of pregnancy comfortably.
