Horse Husband Stables welcomed a truly special filly just before the stroke of midnight on March 20, 2025. Lovingly nicknamed “Ditto,” she arrived exactly on her due date and bears an uncanny resemblance to her dam, Lady Dyanaformer, who was the first homebred and racehorse for Horse Husband Stables. Now we’re inviting you to help write the next chapter of her story by submitting your name ideas for Ditto’s official Jockey Club name!
About Lady Dyanaformer
Lady Dyanaformer is a deeply meaningful mare for Horse Husband Stables. Her dam, Lady Macjazz, was the very first horse co-owner Kyle Rothfus ever purchased back in 2014—originally intended as a show horse prospect, with no plans of ever entering the racing world. But Lady Macjazz led Kyle into Thoroughbreds, and her daughter Dyana became the farm’s first homebred racehorse, launching what would become the HHS breeding program.
A fierce, protective mother, Dyana made her broodmare debut in 2024 with the birth of Lord Paycasso, a colt who quickly captured hearts. Now, with her second foal, Dyana once again proves herself a remarkable producer.
Born with contracted front fetlocks and knees, plus lax hind fetlocks and extremely long legs, Ditto struggled to stand on her own. The HHS team called the emergency vet at 3am, who arrived to support her legs with bandages and pass a feeding tube so she could receive the colostrum she needed. Thanks to their quick action and Ditto’s determined spirit, she’s now up and thriving.
Meet Country Grammer, the Sire
Ditto is by Country Grammer, winner of the Dubai World Cup and more than $11 million on the track. Although this is his first crop of foals, the HHS team was so impressed by his physical build and athleticism that they chose him even before seeing any offspring. They prioritize producing long-term athletes—horses who will be sound and competitive whether they race or go on to careers in sport—and they believe this pairing is exactly that.
Future Plans for Ditto
Ditto will stay at Horse Husband Stables with hopes of beginning a racing career when the time comes. After that, she may follow in her dam’s hoofprints as a broodmare, or perhaps chart her own path in a competitive second career in disciplines like Eventing or Dressage. No matter what the future holds, she’s part of the HHS family for life.
